Obituary

It is with great sadness that the family of Carmelo Tomas announce he passed away peacefully with his family by his side on April 12, 2023 at the age of 92. He was born in Solano on December 4, 1930 to the late Giuseppe and Maria (Romeo) Tomas.

In addition to his wife Nina, Carmelo is survived by his daughter Maria Tripodi and husband Nunzio and his son Joe Tomas and wife Tina and his five cherished grandchildren, Isabella Tripodi, Nina Tripodi, Rocco Tripodi, Elena Tomas and Carmelo Tomas. He also leaves behind two siblings Joe Tomas and his wife Mary, his sister Maria Fraccaroli and sister in law Emilia Tomas. He was also pre deceased by his brother Emilio Tomas and brother in law Arnaldo Fraccaroli.

Carmelo came to America in 1961, where he worked at Colonial Footwear with his brothers for about 10 years.  Soon after, he started his own painting business and was then joined by his two brothers who established Tomas Brothers Painting.  Carmelo settled in Wilton Connecticut where he raised his family. He was a hard worker, cared for his family and was never without a smile on his face. He was the patriarch of the family and always made sure that everyone who walked into his home felt welcomed. His love of family, gardening, and his hard work ethic are things that have all been embedded in his children and grandchildren. His grandchildren were his heart and soul and he truly will be missed by all.
