Charles J. Murray, Jr.

Charles (Charlie) J. Murray, Jr. passed away on October 6, 2023 at Norwalk Hospital.  Born in Claremont, N.H., the only son of Charles and Viola Murray and the husband of his beloved wife Louise Murray of 64 years, who passed away on October 29, 2023.

He attended the University of New Hampshire and later Salem State College in Salem, MA, where he earned a Degree in Business Management. As a young man, he worked in retail sales, which took him and his growing family to many cities in New England. After settling in Newton, MA he started his career as a technical recruiter. 

Charlie and his wife Louise later moved to Raymond, ME where they lived for 35 years. He was very involved in the community and served as the head selectman for a period of time.  He was an avid reader, loved cooking, classical music, dogs and the outdoors. 

Charlie is survived by his daughter Martha Murray and son-in-law Jung-Hsin Yang, daughter Katherine Murray, daughter Bridget and son-in-law Brian Kane and his granddaughter Charlotte Kane.  

His family will be making arrangements for a private memorial service at an appropriate time.  Donations in his memory may be made to the Norwalk Public Library.
