David Harry Ripley, age 67 of Norwalk, died suddenly at his home on October 1, 2021. Born in Norwalk on December 28, 1953, he was the son of the late William A. and Elizabeth (Rose) Ripley and grew up on Bell Island. He was a retired skilled carpenter, having worked for Hobbs, Inc. for many years. He was an avid road biker, loved Cape Cod, the ocean and just being outdoors. David was a dedicated father, grandfather and friend and a proud member of AA. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
David is survived by his beloved children Jason Ripley and his wife Michelle, and Sarah Ripley Sprague, grandchildren Aubrey Kathleen and Jason Michael, his siblings Robert and Kevin Ripley and Elizabeth Zatorsky. He is also survived by his former wives, mother of his children Kathleen Signor, and Susan Kelley, several nieces, nephews and cousins and his beloved dog Gracie. David was also predeceased by his brothers William “Chip” Ripley and John Ripley.
David’s family will receive friends at the Magner Funeral Home, 12 Mott Ave., Norwalk on Thursday, Oct. 7 from 5-8 PM. A funeral mass will be held on Friday, October 8, 10 AM at St. Joseph Church, 85 S. Main St., Norwalk. In lieu of flowers, donations in his name may be made to AA (www.aa.org).
