On January 29, 2021 we lost our beloved patriarch Donald Arlington Burrows, Jr. He passed away peacefully at home. He is now at eternal rest with his adored wife of 59 years, Jeanette Friend Burrows. Born February 11, 1933 in the Bronx, NY, he was the son of the late Donald A. Burrows, Sr. and Kathleen Carney Burrows, and brother of the late William Burrows.
Don is survived by his son Anthony Burrows, daughter Cheryl and her husband Albert Williams, daughter Kathleen and her husband Richard Malcy, and daughter Theresa and her husband Vincent Lacalamito. He had twelve grandchildren, Alexandrea, Sandra,Elizabeth, Mario, Christopher, Patrick, Joseph, Eric, Daniel, Amber-Rain, Kaitlyn and Alexis, and seven great grandchildren, Devin, Lily, Gino, Ella, Brooklyn, Ebony, and Allen who adored him so very much.
He served his country proud as a Senior Navy Chief, Retired. He was retired from the Norwalk Post Office. No one was more proud of our military and country than our Don. He was the Commander of the VFW Post 603 and was a member of the Masons. He could often be seen around the city of Norwalk selling poppies and proudly marching in every Veteran’s Day Parade. We will miss him dearly.
Don’s family will receive friends at the Magner Funeral Home, 12 Mott Ave., Norwalk on Sunday, Feb. 7 from 2-5 PM for a walk through wake where masks and social distancing will be required. Graveside services for Don will be held on Monday, Feb. 8, 1 PM at St. John Cemetery with full military honors.
