Dorothy Daniello, age 86, of So. Norwalk, died peacefully in her sleep on December 25, 2020 at Wilton Meadows. Born November 18, 1934 in Brooklyn, NY, Dotty was the 2nd oldest of 10 children.
She is predeceased by her parents Louis and Edith (Schaer) Manger, and her husband of 54 years, Tony Daniello.
A loving mother and homemaker, Dotty retired from J.M. Layton & Co. in the early 1990’s. Due to her love of the ocean, she and her husband moved to Surf City, N.C. They enjoyed taking long strolls on the beach where they would collect shells and shark teeth, and often turn them into ornaments for their family and friends. Years later, they moved to Surfside Beach, S.C.
Seven years ago, after the passing of her late husband, Dotty moved back North to be closer to her family.
Dotty was also predeceased by her daughters, Patricia Dick and Linda Daniello, and 4 of her siblings. She is survived by her children Barbara Kaiser (Bob), Tony Daniello (Cheryl), Thomas Daniello (Dominick), Diane Mammone and Joanne Howard (Eddie), and her son-in-law Alan Dick. Dotty is also survived by 9 grandchildren, Tricia, Melissa (Jeremy), Cara (Matt), Heather(Dennis), Anthony (Stephanie), Bryan, Jade, Danielle and Matthew, and 7 great-grandchildren, Dennis, Chase, Tyler, Anthony, Hayden, Taylor and Jaxson. Dotty is also survived by 5 siblings.
Due to COVID-19 restrictions, funeral services will be held privately, with interment beside her husband at St. John’s Cemetery, Norwalk.
