Eric Owen Spielman, the beloved son of Mary and Bill Spielman passed away on January 13th at the age of 29. Eric was born and raised in Norwalk, graduating from All Saints, Trinity Catholic High School and received his undergraduate degree at Loyola University. At the time of his death, Eric was finishing up his final semester of Law School at Quinnipiac University.
Eric was a compassionate, brilliant, and witty person whose smile could light up a room. He was naturally gifted regularly achieving honors throughout the duration of his academic career. Eric’s talents would have led him to go on to a long and successful career as a lawyer. His large number of friends and colleagues were a testament to his outgoing personality, strong work ethic, and most importantly his big heart. He truly will be missed by so many.
Eric had numerous passions, but will always be remembered for his love of food, fashion and having fun. Eric loved to frequent new restaurants, actively seeking out the best places for good burgers and pizza. His fashion sense was second to none. From his love for Polo, to his love for funky socks, we all will greatly miss seeing what Eric was going to wear that day. When he was not busy with Law School, he loved to travel, play video games and watch Law and Order.
Eric is survived by his mother and father, Mary Fitzgerald Spielman and William Spielman, two brothers and two sisters, William Jr., Sean, Meghan, and Katelyn. He is also survived by four nieces and nephews, Elle, Camden, Dylan, and Lyla, with one on the way in March. He was predeceased by all of his grandparents.
While Eric’s tragic death has been a devastating blow to the many who loved him very much, may it be a reminder to you that everyday is a fresh start. A mass of Christian Burial will take place at St. Jerome Church on Saturday, January 30th at 10 am. Due to COVID restrictions, the mass will be restricted to family and close friends.
