Frederick Fachner Obituary

Frederick H. Fachner, 73, of Norwalk, died on December 7, 2022 at Yale-New Haven. Born in Norwalk, the son John W. Sr and Florence (Huth) Fachner, he was the loving husband of the late Jeanne (Murphy) Fachner.
A lifelong resident of Norwalk, he graduated from Norwalk High School, Wagner College, and earned his master’s degree from the University of Bridgeport. He retired as a Vocational Rehabilitation Supervisor at the Bureau of Rehabilitation Services after 20 years of dedicated service before which he ran the family glass business.


A man of deep faith, he was an active member and Head Deacon at the First Congregational Church on the Green. He taught the confirmation class for many years and held several positions on the church board.


He is survived by his children: Rebecca Fachner and her husband Craig Sorvillo of Arlington, VA; Rachel Sample of Portland, OR; Beth Pierce and her husband Drew of Dedham, MA and Peter Igneri and his wife Heidi of Scarborough, ME. His 6 beloved grandchildren Dean Sample; Aidan and Grady Pierce; Ellis, Cole and Molly Igneri. He is additionally survived by his partner Dottie Lerner, his brother Jack Fachner and nephew Benjamin and their wives Maria and Gillian. 
 
Memorial services will be held at the historic First Church on the Green in Norwalk on Friday January 13th at 1pm. 
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the First Church on the Green on Norwalk.
