Gerald Goldstein Obituary

Gerald (Gerry) Goldstein, 78, of Norwalk, passed away on January 4th, 2021 at Norwalk Hospital. He was born in Brooklyn, NY, son of the late Abraham and Ceil (Raab) Goldstein.  

Gerry worked as an aerospace engineer for more than 30 years for companies such as Northrup Grumman and PerkinElmer. His career included working mission support on the 1969 moon landing, contributing to the design of the LEM (used in the Apollo 13 mission), and working on the Hubble Telescope. He loved to sing, play golf, and spend time with family.

Gerry was preceded in death by his beloved wife Jane and cherished brother Michael. He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law Deborah and John McGarvey, adored granddaughter Ruby McGarvey, and son Mark Ozdoba, as well as sister-in-law Ellen Goldstein, brother-in-law and sister-in-law Jeremy and Linda Gilbert, and loving nieces and nephews.

Due to Covid restrictions, interment at Old Montefiore Cemetery in Queens, NY will be held privately by his family.  Memorial donations may be made to American Cancer Society (https://donate3.cancer.org) or Smilow Cancer Center (www.givetoynhh.org).
