Helen C. (Festa) Barati

  Helen C. Barati, age 84 of Norwalk, died peacefully at her home on Friday, March 12, 2021 with her daughters by her side.  She was the wife of the late Stephen P. Barati.  Helen was born in Norwalk on December 30, 1936, the daughter of the late Generoso and Emilia (DeVito) Festa.  She worked for the Hat Corp. of America and Norden Systems but the job she loved the most was as a waitress for Old MacDonald’s Farm & Restaurant.  Helen was a member of the St. Ann Club and the Wednesday Night Live Girls Club.  She enjoyed travelling and was very involved with the Norwalk Senior Center.

     Helen is survived by her daughters Pamela Barati and Anne Barati, her husband John Rankin and children Ted and Eli.  She is also survived by her sisters Faye Dubois, Rose Russo and Tillie Besaw, her best friend Linda Busack and many nieces and nephews.  She was predeceased by her sisters Mary Manzi, Josephine Purcell and Anna Reda, and her brothers Alfred, Samuel and Pasquale Festa.

     A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Matthew Church, 216 Scribner Ave.  Burial will follow at St. John Cemetery.  Masks and social distancing will be required as well as registering at church upon arrival.  Donations in Helen’s name may be made to the American Cancer Society (www.cancer.org)
