Joseph S. Salvo

Joseph S. Salvo, 94, of Norwalk, CT died peacefully on September 19, 2021, in Norwalk Hospital. Born in Pittston, PA, the son of the late Patsy and Mary (Ciali) Salvo, he was the husband of the late Mary (Dziadow) Salvo. He is survived by his son, Bruce Riznyk (Jane) of Norwalk, two Grandchildren Bruce Riznyk II (Katie) and Eric Riznyk (Tina), great grandchildren (Gracie & Tommy), and five sisters; Carolyn (Joe), Lucy, Mary (John), Patricia (Dennis) and Helen (Art), as well as several loving nieces and nephews. He was also predeceased by his brothers Sam (Davy), Charles (Helen) and Ross (Marie). Joe served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was a machinist with Perkin Elmer Corp. and retired after 23 years of dedicated service. He was an active member of St. Philip Church, where he served as an usher. Joe loved spending time with his family, traveling and watching UCONN Women’s basketball. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Phillip Church, Norwalk, on Wednesday, Sept 22,  at 10:30 am. Interment with military honors will follow at St. John Cemetery, 25 Camp Ave, Darien.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Philip Church, One Father Conlon Place, Norwalk, CT 06851. Local regulations require all attending to wear masks.
