Kristin Anne (Cobb) Troost

Kristin Cobb Troost of Cobblers Lane in Norwalk, CT passed on August 20, 2021, in Wilton, CT.

 Kristin was Born Kristin Anne Cobb on October 5, 1934 in Oneida, NY to Donald Ormond Cobb and Emily Winifred Gordon. She lost her mother at a young age and was raised by her maternal grandmother Frances Knight Gordon, in Sherrill, NY.  She graduated from Cazenovia Junior College in Cazenovia, NY and earned a Nursing Degree from the Columbia Presbyterian School of Nursing in 1958. On November 8, 1958, in Oneida, NY, Kristin married William Stewart Troost of Stamford , CT.  They resided in Stamford CT and then in 1959 moved to Cobblers Lane in Norwalk, CT, where Kristin lived for 62 years. She raised three children in her home, Joan, John and Peter and then returned to work as a registered nurse at the School Sisters of Notre Dame in Wilton, CT and as a nurse in the office of Dr. Alan Radin for almost three decades. She and Bill were married for 41 years.

 Kristin was an avid reader and completer of the NYT crossword puzzle. She loved shopping, traveling and eating out at the Silvermine Tavern and Three Bears Restaurant.  Growing up, the family spent time each summer at Sutton Place in Truro, Cape Cod, often with extended family and friends. She and Bill travelled to many of the National Parks, visiting good friends in NM, and took several cruises. Kristin also visited Ireland. Kristin loved the Holidays, especially Christmas and decorated the house for every occasion.  Thanksgiving and Christmas at her house were always special. She loved entertaining family and friends and there were lots of parties on the deck.  The family had very close friends on Cobblers Lane. Kristin loved spending time with her grandchildren, Joshua, Jacob and Megan and her great-grand daughter, Lilliana. In her later years, she was especially close to her grand dog, Lizzie, who generally would not leave her side.  

 Kristin was predeceased by her husband, Bill, who died in 1999. She is survived by her son John and his wife, Shari, of Hamden, CT and their son Joshua of Clemmons, NC, who collectively, cared for Kristin for several years, allowing her to remain in her home until very recently.  She is also survived by her son Peter and his wife, Karen, of Ladson, SC, her grandson Jacob of Austin, TX, her granddaughter Megan and great granddaughter Lilly of Clarksville TN and her daughter, Joan of Clemmons., NC.  Additionally, Kristin is survived by her niece Tracey Robert and nephews, Ernest Troost and Mark Troost and her half brothers and sisters In Oneida, NY, and their extended families in NY and FL.

 A memorial service for Kristin will be held at later date at St. John’s Catholic Cemetery. The family would like to thank all the care givers at Wilton Meadows for taking care of Kristin.
