Louis Ciccarello Obituary

In Loving Memory of Louis S. Ciccarello October 26, 1938 - September 9, 2023
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Louis S. Ciccarello, a
beloved son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, and esteemed member of the legal and political communities. Louis passed away on September 9, 2023.
Louis was born on October 26, 1938, in Middletown, Connecticut, to his loving parents, Giuseppe and Salvatrice Ciccarello. He was raised in Middletown alongside his sister Annie and his brothers Michael, Mario, and Salvatore. While his siblings Mario, Michael, and Annie have preceded him in death, his brother Salvatore continues to carry the family legacy. Louis's educational journey was marked by a passion for learning and achievement. He earned his undergraduate degree from Wesleyan University, a foundation that led him to
pursue his dreams further. His legal aspirations took him to Stanford University, where he obtained his law degree, laying the groundwork for a remarkable career. For over five decades, Louis dedicated his life to the practice of law, characterized by unwavering integrity, dedication, and excellence. He became an integral part of the distinguished firm Lovejoy, Rimer, and Cuneo, where he devoted himself from 1965 until his well-deserved retirement in 2018. Louis's commitment to public service was unwavering. In 1975, he was elected as a
Connecticut State Senator, tirelessly advocating for the welfare of his constituents. His dedication extended to the Norwalk community, where he served on the Norwalk Board of Education and the Norwalk Board of Estimate and Taxation. His expertise also found expression as a college professor of law and as Norwalk's esteemed Corporate Counsel under Mayor Alex Knopp.
Beyond his professional accomplishments, Louis found joy in life's simple pleasures. He was happiest when he was on the tennis court, indulging in his love for the sport, and savoring the pleasures of good food. In recent years, he was able to relish these joys at his retirement home in Boynton Beach, Florida, with his love and partner, Susan Blazer. They were poised to celebrate 25 years of love and companionship this November. Louis was previously married to Marilyn Robinson, and together they were blessed with three children: Jeffrey, Matthew, and Lynne. Both Jeffrey and Matthew have preceded him in death. He also embraced the family of his marriage to Joan Ablett, and her children, Jonathan and Elizabeth. Louis leaves behind a cherished legacy, including his daughter, Lynne Ciccarello, and grandsons Luke and Grant Ciccarello. His brother, Sal, nieces, nephews, and a host of loving relatives also mourn his passing. Louis's partner, Susan Blazer, along with her children Marci and Jason, and their respective families, will forever hold him dear in their hearts.
A memorial service to celebrate Louis's remarkable life will be held on September 18 at St. Matthews Church in Norwalk at 10:00. The family welcomes friends and loved ones to join them in honoring his memory and bidding a fond farewell to a beloved father, grandfather, brother, partner, and friend. Louis S. Ciccarello's enduring spirit, remarkable achievements, and boundless love will forever remain in our hearts, and he will be deeply missed.
