On Thursday, June 18, 2021 at 12:30 a.m, Madeline Rozzi of Milford, Connecticut and former Wilton resident, left this earth to join our heavenly Father. Madeline was born on February 9, 1931, and raised in the Bronx. She was the daughter of the late Thomas and Jeanne (Sambuco) Calcaterra. With a love for the arts, Madeline grew to work as a computer programmer and artist in New York City and Connecticut. She was a beautiful artist with unyielding strength and independence truly inspiring to those around her.
When she wasn’t sketching or completing the New York Times crossword puzzle (in pen!), Madeline could be found singing along to barbershop tunes with her husband, Michael Rozzi, and dancing with him to the oldies on the radio. Her passion for the arts, music, and dance could be seen through all aspects of her life.
With seven grandchildren, Madeline was always ready to lend a helping hand or watchful eye wherever it was needed. Her voice can still be heard singing the lullabies that calmed the minds of any who listened.
Madeline Rozzi is survived by her husband, Michael Rozzi, son and daughter-in-law Chris and Wendi Rozzi, grandchildren, Kenyon, Tyler, Makenna, Andrew, Samuel, Holden, and Matthew, as well as many nieces and nephews. Madeline was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Jeanne Calcaterra, sons Michael and Thomas Rozzi, and brother Donald Calcaterra.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Monday June 28, 2021, 10 am at St. Jerome Church, 23 Half Mile Rd., Norwalk, with burial to follow at St. John Cemetery. Family and friends may gather at the Magner Funeral Home on Sunday June 27 , from 3-5pm. In lieu of flowers, donations in her name may be made to the Alzheimer’s Assoc. (www.alz.org/).
