Margaret V. Melega, 83, died on April 20, 2020 at Bishop Wicke Health Center in Shelton, CT. Born in Mosonmagyaróvár Hungary, the daughter of the late Gyula and Elizabeth (Lakatos) Vadasz, she left to start a better life. Margaret met her late husband, Charles Melega, while escaping communist controlled Hungary. With amazing talent and a passion for art in sketching and painting in watercolors, she owned a successful interior design/upholstery business. She loved her family, books and animals (especially cats) and coffee. She was also a long time member of the Audubon Society.
She is survived by her children; Charlie Melega and his wife Lori of Taunton, MA, Nancy Fischer and her husband Barry of Fayetteville, NC and Elizabeth Melega of Ansonia, CT and her partner, Ian Delaney, as well as many family members in Hungary and Spain.
Due to Covid-19 protocols, there will be a private burial at St. John Cemetery, Norwalk, CT with a public memorial to be announced in the future.
