Marie Rosana Mompremier

Marie Rosana Mompremier, 87 of Norwalk, died on Tuesday, Nov 15, 2022 at Wilton Meadows.

Born in Haiti in the town of Verrettes, the daughter of Evans Mompremier and Adelia Delva.  She arrived in the United States in the early 70’s and lived in Brooklyn, NY.  A few years later, she moved to Norwalk, CT.  She worked at a factory (Swank, Inc.) in Norwalk for many years.  Her last two jobs were at two local nursing homes (Overlook Park & Lee Manor) where she worked.  Most of her friends called her Zane or mommy Zane.  She was well-loved.

She was predeceased by both parents, Nissage Lapombray (Brother), and three uncles: Boreguard Delva, Dumourier Delva and Bruny Delva.

She enjoyed cooking, listening to music, dancing, watching TV and making others happy. 

She is survived by her seven children: [Michelle Azor Larose (Delray Beach, FL),  Nicole Azor Muse (Chicago, IL), Guy Augustin (Orlando, FL), Sonia Augustin (Norwalk, CT), Marie Cecile Compas (Norwalk, CT), Jean Rock Mompremier (Norwalk, CT), Viviane Mompremier ( Norwalk, CT)], 24 grandchildren: [Phillippe, Rose, Patrick, Patricia, Steven, Elmundo, Tracy, Reginald, Dmitrievena, Ludmilla, Brittani, Sandra, Betty, Guy Jr., Lucy, Sarah, Jean Auguste, Henry, Tatiana, Charles, Jean Alexander, Jean Rock Jr., Matthew and Zachary], 20 cherished great-grandchildren, one brother (Henry Mompremier) and two sisters (Julie Mompremier and Adeline Mompremier Bazin) and many nieces and nephews and cousins.

Her family will receive friends on Friday, Dec 2, from 6-8 PM at the Magner Funeral Home, 12 Mott Ave, Norwalk. Her Funeral Mass will be held on Sat., Dec 3, at 9:00AM at St. Joseph Church, Norwalk, with burial to follow at St John’s Cemetery.
