Obituary

Miriam R. Wood, 75, formerly of Norwalk, died on March 22, 2023 in Black Mountain, NC. Born in Norwalk, the daughter of the late Howard H. and Miriam (Iliff) Wood, she worked as a clerk at the Norwalk City Hall for over 17 years.

A member of the Black Mountain United Methodist Church and East Ave Methodist Church, she was a 1984 delegate for the Methodist Bi-centennial in Ocean Grove, NJ and having studied professional voice for many years, she greatly enjoyed attending the annual church choir festivals. Miriam loved to study the Greek language, crochet and crewel work.

She is survived by her brother Howard Wood Sr.  wife, Mona of Green Mountain, NC, her sister Donna Pittenger, husband Ken of Kent, OH, as well as her niece, four nephews and many grand-nieces and nephews.

Graveside services, officiated by Deacon Don Burr, will be held Thursday March 30, 2023, at 11AM at Hillside Cemetery, 165 Ridgefield Rd, Wilton.

Special thanks to McCune Center where Miriam resided, and the Hospice team that cared for her, and Deacon Don Burr. Memorial donations may be made to a hospice facility of your choosing.
