Oreste Di Stasio Obituary

Oreste Di Stasio, 82, passed away on December 27, 2020 at Norwalk Hospital. Born in Minturno, Italy, the son of the late Giovanni and Concetta (Di Ciufo) Di Stasio, he was the loving husband of Marianna (Pappa) Di Stasio for 56 years. He was a long time resident of Wilton, CT.

Oreste’s family immigrated to the United States from Italy in 1955 to live the American dream. He was a commercial and residential mason who took great pride in his craft. Whenever he showed his work, his eyes would light up.

Oreste lived a simple life. His family was his pride and joy. As a fun surprise for his girls, he used to hide treats around the house. His belly laugh was contagious and he loved to tell jokes and stories that would lift your spirits. He was always available for anyone who needed him. He loved planting vegetable gardens and growing fig trees (these were very special) for himself and his daughters. He made his own wine. “Everything with wine brings sunshine,” was his favorite saying. He loved watching WWE Wrestling and cartoons, his favorite, Tom & Jerry.

He was predeceased by his mother, father and youngest brother Renato.

In addition to Marianna, he is survived by his children, Tina (Barry) Pritchard, Mary (Mike) Martini, and Nancy (Salvatore) Giglio, his grandchildren; Stephanie (Anthony) Raia, Amy Pritchard, Zachary Martini, Giuliana and Ava Giglio. He is also survived by his brothers Frank (Elvira) Di Stasio and Bruno (late Lucy) Di Stasio and many nieces and nephews.

He will be deeply missed. His memories will be our pride and joy! “100% guaranteed!” as our father would say.

Due to Covid, all services will be held privately.

Memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital (stjude.org) or Franciscan Mission Associates, Mount Vernon, NY.
