Ronald John Corcillo

Ronald John Corcillo, 86, departed this life on October 15, 2021 in New York City. As owner of the Norwalk Book Shop, he brought the joy of reading to three generations of book lovers; but friends and family also remember him as the king of the dance floor, the star of the skating rink, the soul of the softball team and the guy who was always up for another set of tennis no matter how late, or how hot, it was. However you knew him, you probably thought he was the best dad, grandpa, great-grandpa, brother, uncle, great uncle, boss, neighbor, teammate, host or friend you could ever have.

Ron is survived by his wife Jane Reynolds Corcillo, whose life he filled with happiness for 65 years; his daughters Libby (Cliff Tager), Barbara, Judy, Peggy (Dave Pietsch), and son Ron (Geralyn) Corcillo; grandchildren Megan (Sean Martin), Amy (Anant Ahuja) and Sara (Mike Westover) Vallerie, Allie and Christopher O’Brien and Cole, Ryder and Graham Pietsch; great-grandchildren Charlotte and Thomas Westover and Sai, Shiv, Samir and Shaan Ahuja; his “baby” sister Lorraine Cannizzo, and innumerable loving relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Louis and Margaret Corcillo, his brother Louis Jr, and sisters Irene, Theresa, Lee and Dolores.

Ron’s family will receive friends on Thursday, Oct. 21 from 5-8 pm at Magner Funeral Home, 12 Mott Ave, Norwalk, CT. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Thomas the Apostle Church at 10:30 am on Friday, October 22, followed by burial at St. John’s Cemetery, Norwalk.

Memorial donations would be welcomed by aggiehouse.org, a transitional housing program at the University of California, Davis which was co-founded by Ron’s granddaughter Allie, or by the Norwalk Youth Symphony, where he was a Board member and patron for many years.
