Rosavene Pike O’Mahony, 86, longtime resident of Norwalk, CT. Born in Brooklyn, NY, wife of the late John Henry O’Mahony, daughter of Scottish immigrants Samuel Pike and Agnes Knox Pike and descendent of Clan Cameron, left this earth on August 4th, 2022. Rosavene lived an ordinary life, full of love, happiness, good times, and hard times and blessed with strength and appreciation for it all. She was the proud owner of an insatiable curiosity that prevented boredom and allowed freedom to engage life as she pleased. Reading was the vehicle she chose and history was her subject of choice while a good mystery never failed to delight her. Books were her favorite gift, to give and receive, and she agreed wholeheartedly with Thomas Jefferson’s words; “I cannot live without books” and lived her life according to Abraham Lincoln’s “A man is about as happy as he makes up his mind to be”. She believed that family, hard work and reading were the key to a rewarding and happy life. Rosavene was privileged to raise four wonderful children and would like to be remembered for loving them every minute of every day and hopes they will be comforted with these words. She is survived by her children; John O’Mahony and wife Wendy of Croton-on-Hudson, NY, Robert O’Mahony and wife Maryellen of New Canaan, CT, Allison O’Mahony and husband Peter of Bellevue, WA, and Michael O’Mahony and wife Mary of Dana Point, CA. She deeply loved her fabulous grandchildren; Sam, Ian, Meryl, Tatum, Schuyler, Taylor, Jillian, Cameron, and Conor. A wonderful family indeed! She is also survived by her sisters, Diane Timmeny and Anne Buckley. Sisters-in-law Patricia Oberg, Barbara Le Duke (husband Harold) and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sister Agnes Brendel. She leaves her family and friends gratitude for their love and friendship. Funeral services will be private. Memorial contributions may be made to- Sloan Kettering Memorial Hospital, 1275 York Ave, NY 10065 or Michael J Fox Foundation, Church Street Station, PO Box 780, NY 10008.
