Elaine H Cotaling

Elaine H. Cotaling, age 79 of Norwalk, died at home with her loving family by her side, on Thursday, February 18, 2016, after a courageous 3 ½ year battle with cancer. Born in Norwalk, the daughter of the late William and Beatrice (McSherry) Hickey, she was the wife of the late Fred Cotaling, with whom she started Cotaling’s Auto Body, Inc. in 1970.  A graduate of Sacred Heart Academy and St. Raphael School of Nursing in New Haven. Elaine loved winter weekends in Wilmington, VT with her family. A member of the Shore and Country Club, she enjoyed Long Island Sound and annual trips to Block Island, but her favorite place to be was El Hammock Island with her grandchildren.

She is survived by her children, David (Jeri Cohen) Cotaling, Peter (Diana) Cotaling, Bob (Allison) Cotaling and Elizabeth (Tony) Aitoro, cherished grandchildren; Connor and Taylor Cotaling, Jason and Chris Cotaling, and Caroline, A.J. and Michael Aitoro, as well as a niece, Lynn (Dr. Thomas) Santaniello and their 2 daughters Andrea and Jessica.

Elaine’s family would like to express their sincere gratitude to Ann Marie Turner for 3 ½ years of compassionate care, and Dr. Dennis Meighan for his continued support.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, February 20, at 12 Noon, at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, 203 East Ave, Norwalk with burial will follow in St. John Cemetery Norwalk. Calling hours will take place on Friday, Feb 19, from 4-8 PM at the Magner Funeral Home, 12 Mott Avenue, Norwalk.
