James R. Franklino

     James R. Franklino, age 94 of Norwalk and husband of the late Madeline Troiano Franklino, died peacefully at the Norwalk Hospital on Thursday, April 9.  He was born in Norwalk on July 24, 1920, the son of the late Dominick and Lucy Avallone Franklino.  James worked for Yankee Metal Corp for over 50 years and when he retired he ran his own landscaping business.  He was a proud veteran, having served his country in the U.S. Army during WW II.  James loved his family, gardening, was an avid Yankee fan and worked out and swam at the YMCA for 50 years.

     James is survived by his children Patricia Chieffalo and her husband Salvatore, and Jeffrey Franklino, his sister Bertha Franklino, two grandchildren, Ashley and Nicholas Chieffalo, and several nieces and nephews, all of Norwalk.

     A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, April 18, 10 AM at St. Philip Church, with burial to follow at St. John Cemetery.  There are no visiting hours.  Donations in James’ name may be made to the American Heart Association.
