To the Hutchinson family, I just heard of Jim's passing, so please accept my belated condolences. Although I moved from the Norwalk area years ago, I consider Jim a good friend. He worked in the neighborhood where I lived, and waved to my dogs and me every day on our daily walk when he was driving to work at the country club. He also taught me how to shoot straight, and introduced me to the world of sporting clays. He was a great man and will be missed. With deepest sympathy - Jon Lawrence

Jim will be greatly missed by the extended SCC family. He had a special talent to make every member feel a unique connection. Many years ago, as a young parent, Jim took a special interest in my children by connecting with my daughters about Irish step dancing and my son about Karate. Jim was just great at making connections with everyone.

When visiting the club after resigning as members Jim always said hello and would say, we want to get you back someday. Jim always felt like part of my family and will be greatly missed.

Debbie, Jimmy, Courtney and family, I am so sorry for the great loss you are suffering. I still cannot believe he's gone. He seemed invincible. Working for Jim almost 15 years were some of the best years of my life. The camaraderie shared between us all with Jim at the helm made us feel like a family. I learned so much under his leadership. I learned what it's like to be in the hospitality industry. Always, always give your all and then give a little more. There were many times he was there for me personally as well. His door was always open if we needed him. I am deeply saddened for you and will keep you in my prayers. There will never be another man like Jim. God Bless you all

I am deeply saddened by Jim's passing. I worked with him often as a member of the Music Machine dance band between 1980 and 2000 and we performed at a great deal of weddings at SACC. He was always the consummate professional and always made sure that EVERY detail was handled professionally and properly. He was a true gentleman and a good friend and he and his presence will be missed.

Jim was instrumental in getting his brigade to set up our wedding outdoors at Shore and Country. I remember his "can do" attitude, his friendliness, and his ability to make difficult things appear seamless. We have enjoyed knowing throughout the years, he always remembered us when we visited with a hearty handshake and a greeting that belongs to old friends. Bright light, warm energy, reverent and reliable like the sun...that's my cousin, Jimmy Hutchinson. I knew when he and I met again after decades there at my mom's hospital bedside, he lost no time in deducing my name from my sisters' and bringing forth the most recent news that he had of me from his earlier visits with his Aunt Grace. And in that same instant, Jimmy lost no time revealing himself as an endearing reflection of earlier Hutchinson generations of my youth...he was so friendly like my Uncle Jimmy, so appropriate like my Aunt Doris, so interested like my Aunt Gloria, so jocular like my Uncle Al, so family-focused like my mom and there it was like seeing my Grandma Hutchinson smile again. The heavens welcome a new bright star and Jimmy is still shining, constant forever as he did here on earth.

My heart felt sympathies to the Hutchinson family. I was Jim's 7th grade teacher at St. A's. It had been years since I thought of many of those "kids". But by the miracle of Facebook we reconnected. I remember him as a very jovial kind young man. He obviously became a man with excellent values. He shared with me a couple of weeks ago that he was sick, but I am shocked that he assed so quickly. He is in my prayers as you, his family are ,too

So many positives have come over the years knowing Jim. Although his position at SCC limited him from socializing with all of us at the club, I always had the feeling that Jim was on board as a member. The interaction that could be seen with everyone made Jim a personal friend to each of us. His smile, his grip, his bear hugs, his stories, his love and passion, and his untiring desire to please EVERYONE !!!
Bigger than life itself ... Jim you will be missed. My family loved you and wish you well in Heaven. God will have a special place for you while you keep watch over all your sheep.
May your family be comforted by knowing that they have shared a special person.
As a member of the NCHS '75, I wish to tell Maureen that although I didn't know Jim at the time, your personality was a reflection of your older brother. My condolences to you.

Hutchinson Family,

Where to begin, there are way too many happy stories about our friend, Mr. H to recall. Jim was a part of our world for 15 years as we were happy and grateful to have him as OUR club manager. He became more than that to all of us, he was our friend. My girls would always look forward to Spring and knowing Jim would be at the front to door to welcome them back to their favorite place to be. He sent them ice cream sundaes for good grades and birthdays, celebrated their victories, report cards, school acceptances and sports accomplishments. For me, it was always the silly waive (Ms. America Style - elbow, elbow, wrist, wrist) and the greeting, "Hello Muffy" Thurston Howell the 3rd Style through the teeth with a cheeky grin. We thank you all for sharing your husband, brother, son and father with us for all these years. Rest in Peace Jim, you have certainly earned it. - See more at: http://www.legacy.com/guestbooks/thehour/james-charles-hutchinson-condolences/174298117?&page=2#sthash.Zz3pood4.dpuf
