Josephine S (Segers) Hamm

Josephine (Segers) Hamm, age 95, beloved wife of the late Vincent L. Hamm passed away on January 25, 2016 in Norwalk Hospital, after a brief illness, surrounded by her loving family. Josephine was born on December 31, 1920 in Antwerp, Belgium, daughter of the late Louis and Louise (Matthias) Segers. Josephine and Vincent enjoyed a long and loving marriage of 58 years, and traveled extensively all across the United States. She was extremely proud of her grandchildren, and was affectionately known as their “Gigi.” Jo loved spending time with her family, feeding her backyard birds, and enjoying frequent lunches at Duchess.  She will be greatly missed by all.

Josephine is survived by her children, Robert L. Hamm and his wife Kelly of Bradenton, Florida and daughter Marilyn H. Reid and her husband Kevin, 5 grandchildren, Brett and Audrey Hamm, Melissa Reid, Gregory Reid and his wife Samantha, and Steven Reid and his wife Estefania, a brother Peter Segers of the Bronx, New York, as well as several nieces and nephews. Josephine was predeceased by a brother Henric F. Segers and two sisters, Marion Hamm and Margaret Verrity.

A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Friday, January 29, 2016 at 10 AM in St. Jerome Church, 23 Half Mile Road, Norwalk. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family.
