Kenneth Raymond Strong

     Kenneth Raymond Strong, age 89 of Norwalk, died peacefully at his home on Sunday, October 22.  He was the husband of the late Doris Maguirk Strong and the late Florence Ashby Strong.  Ken was born in Norwalk on March 17, 1928, the son of the late George and Rosamond Barron Strong.   A retired carpenter. Ken was a former Boy Scout leader, a volunteer with the Wilton Fire Dept. and a member of the Norwalk Power Squadron.

     Survivors include a son, Kenneth “Chip” Strong, Jr. and his wife Martha Tudhope of VT, a daughter Jean Marie Strong of Norwalk, sisters Helen Rotunda and Viola Krebs, grandchildren Michael Strong and Kathleen Elizabeth Quintin, and many nieces and nephews.  Ken was also predeceased by his siblings Mary Meranti, Gladys Di Francesco, Juanita Carlton and George Strong, Jr.

     A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, October 26, 11:30 AM at St. Jerome Church, 23 Half Mile Rd., Norwalk, with burial to follow at Riverside Cemetery.  Ken’s family will receive friends at the Magner Funeral Home, 12 Mott Ave., Norwalk on Wednesday from 5-7 PM.  Donations in his name may be made to St. Jerome Church.
