Francis (Frank) X. Pierce II

     Francis X. (Frank) Pierce, II, age 64 of New Haven, passed away at his home on May 11, 2015.  Frank was born on May 22, 1950 in Passaic, NJ, the son of the late Francis and Ruth Hannett Pierce.  He was a graduate of Providence College and received his master’s degree in education from Duke University. Frank had been a rehabilitation counselor for the Bureau of Rehabilitation Services and had previously worked for the Greenwich Board of Education as a teacher and guidance counselor, once being named Teacher of the Year.  Frank enjoyed swimming and was a big sports fan, especially basketball.  He also twice completed running the Boston Marathon.

     Frank is survived by his loving daughters, Marissa and Julia Pierce, whom he loved very much and was devoted to, his sisters Mary Thormeyer, Joanne Grant and Kathleen Allen, his former wife Catherine Pierce and several nieces and nephews.

     A memorial service for Frank will be held on Saturday, May 16, 3 PM at the Magner Funeral Home, 12 Mott Ave., Norwalk with Rev. Holly Adams officiating.  There are no visiting hours.  In lieu of flowers, donations in his name may be made to Disabled American Veterans (http://www.dav.org/).
