Welcome to the memorial page for

Janet M Kiehn

July 18, 1959 ~ March 6, 2016 (age 56) 56 Years Old

Janet M. Kiehn was born on July 18, 1959, in Huntington, NY, a daughter of Harold Kiehn and Margaret Lynch Kiehn.  Janet’s childhood was spent in East Northport, NY, with her parents and three siblings.  She was a graduate of Fairfield University, was most recently a senior project manager with the Atlantic Group in Norwalk, and was an active parishioner at St. Matthew’s Church in Norwalk.  Janet made lifelong friends in all those circles. Those friends, along with her family, have shared her journey through joyous times and through her illness.  If we are lucky in this life, we are blessed to have a friend who radiates beauty, compassion, warmth, and charm.  Janet was such a friend to all.

Janet died on Sunday, March 6, 2016, at home in Norwalk, surrounded by the love of her family and friends.  The cause was metastatic breast cancer.  She was predeceased by her parents; stepfather, Eugene Berkery; and brother-in-law, Terry Kirkey.  She is survived by her sister Carol Kiehn Kirkey; brother, Richard Kiehn, his wife, Margery, and their children, daughter Kathryn Boulette Beam, her husband, Matt, and son Matthew Boulette; brother David Kiehn, his wife, Debra, and their son, Brady.

Janet’s family is thankful for the kindness, compassionate care, and support of her family, friends, and staff at the Wittingham Cancer Center at Norwalk Hospital.

Those who wish may call at Magner Funeral Home, 12 Mott Ave., Norwalk, from 4 PM till 8 PM on Thursday, March 10, 2016.  A funeral mass will be celebrated at St. Matthew’s Church, 216 Scribner Ave., Norwalk, on Friday, March 11, 2016, at 10 AM.   In lieu of flowers, gifts to the Norwalk Hospital Foundation/Wittingham Cancer Center, 34 Maple St., Norwalk, CT, 06856 would be appreciated.
